April Ross

April Ross is one of just a handful of female beach volleyball players to have medals won at several Olympics. In Tokyo during the coming days, she'll try to claim her third Olympic medal alongside fellow first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross's dream is to earn her first Olympic Gold. As she is 39, it could be her last chance to achieve it. But she is confident that winning the gold medal is just a few steps away. If we can perform to our highest or even if we play well I feel like we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross declared on NBC Boston. In addition, I'm hoping to have some chance. Ross is born in the year 1982. Costa Mesa California where she resided with her parents and her sister. When she was at Newport Harbor High School, she was a participant in many sports. She participated in basketball and track, in addition to her indoor volleyball achievements during her prep time. However she was clearly a one of a kind in this latter game. As a time at the high school level, according to her college profile, she played the roles of an outside blocker, middle blocker settingter, and hitter. She was named the Gatorade National Circle of Champions player of the Year in 1999 for her achievements. The skills she showed in volleyball also earned her the Orange County Athlete of the Award in the year 2000. Although Ross and Klineman are a couple since the year 2017, Klineman had been an experienced athlete on the beach even before the pair formed. There is no doubt that she has been a major player on the beach throughout the years. In fact, Ross had won several championships, including one with an iconic volleyball legend. In 2007 through 2013 she was in a partnership by Jennifer Kessy, who is the coach she is currently. Together together with Kessy Ross was awarded the World Championship in 2009, while racing on the international circuit. They took home a Silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) and Misty Maytreanor took home gold ahead of them. Ross Jennings was Walsh Jennings partner in fate when Maytreanor decided to retire. The team won bronze in beach volleyball at Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross was a player for the Trojans of USC in her the college years following her graduation from the high school she attended. Her experience at USC was awe-inspiring. In 2000, she was awarded Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and NCAA Freshman of the Year and an All-American. She also helped the Trojans to make it to their first Final Four. During her sophomore year she went through a heartbreaking personal loss, yet she managed to repeat as an All-American. After two more seasons with the Trojans she was instrumental in helping them win consecutive championships. She had established herself as an all-time great having won an award in the year 2003-04. Honda Sports Award as the best female volleyball player. Ross was a international relations student at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, did not have the opportunity to see Ross' daughter blossom into an international beach volleyball star. Ross lost her mother to breast cancer in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. Her mother is still dear. Margie continues to be an inspiration on the beach, and throughout her life.
