April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball player from America She is one of a small group of women who have been awarded medals at several Olympics. Ross will compete in Tokyo for her third Olympic medal along with Alix Klineman, who is a first time Olympian. Ross wants to achieve something more than just her first Olympic medal. It could be the last opportunity for her when she turns 39. However, she's confident that top honours are in reach. Ross, who was born 1982 and was raised in Costa Mesa California with her mother and sister, first began competing in sports during her time at Newport Harbor High. Ross played in numerous activities while at Newport Harbor High School. As a prep-athlete, she was also a participant in indoor track and volleyball. During her sophomore year she experienced a devastating personal loss but still managed to be a second All-American. The two seasons she spent playing for the Trojans they helped succeed in winning consecutive championships. Ross was an excellent volleyball player and won the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the college's top female volleyball player. Ross was an major in international relations at USC. Margie Ross did not see her daughter reach the top in the world of beach volleyball. Ross's mom Margie passed away in 2001, when Ross was still in the midst of being a USC sophomore. It was discovered that she had breast cancer. She still holds her mother very dearly. and Margie continues to be an encouragement for her at the beach and in her daily life.
