April Ross, a beach volleyball player American is part of a select group of women who have been awarded medals at several Olympics. Alix Kallineman is set to compete alongside April Ross at Tokyo for her third gold medal during the next couple of days. Ross would like to do more than her initial Olympic medal. At 39 this may be her final chance to achieve it. She is still confident nevertheless. If we can perform to our highest or even well I feel like we'll get that gold medal Ross said via NBC Boston. Also, I'll take some chances. Ross had her birth on the 22nd, 1982 in Costa Mesa California. She lived there with her family. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of athletics while she was at Newport Harbor High School. In her time as a college athlete, she played indoor volleyball and track. She was evidently the best player in indoor volleyball. At the time of her college volleyball years According to her university biography she played as middle blocker, an outside hitter, and setter. Thanks to her hard work she was awarded in 1999 as the Gatorade Circle of Champions National Player of the Year. She also captured the 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Year trophy for volleyball. Ross and Klineman began their collaboration in the year 2017, however, Ross has been a prominent participant on the beach for quite a while before. She's won big events with different teams. One of them is an icon in the volleyball world. In 2007 through 2013, she was working by Jennifer Kessy, who is currently her coach. Kessy and Ross were an impressive force on the world stage, claiming an overall world title in 2009. The duo eventually captured one silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The legendary Misty Maytreanor team and Kerri Jennings won the gold. In the end, fate had it that way. Ross got Walsh Jennings' new partner when May-Treanor retired. They were awarded the bronze medal in beach volleyball at Rio Olympics 2016. After graduating from high school and a couple of several years prior to hitting the sand as a pro Ross balled out to the USC Trojans in her first season as an collegiate. Her time at USC was awe-inspiring. As a freshman in 2000 she fought her way to Pac-10 and NCAA The Freshman of the Year accolades. She also earned an All-American. In addition, she helped the Trojans advance to their first Final Four. Her sophomore year was the time she went through a heartbreaking personal tragedy, yet managed to win an All-American. Ross was still at the age of a USC sophomore. She had breast cancer. However, she continues to cherish her missing parent with love and close. And Margie is an ongoing source of energy for her on the shore and in her daily her everyday life.
