April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball player American, is among a select set of women who've received medals from many Olympics. In Tokyo over the next few days she'll be aiming to secure her third gold alongside fellow first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross hopes to win more than her first Olympic medal. As she is 39, this might be her last chance to do so. She's still feeling confident nevertheless. Ross on NBC Boston, said that the team was confident that we would get a gold medal if we played our best. Therefore, I'm hoping to have some luck and hope for the best. Ross had her birth on the 22nd, 1982 in Costa Mesa California. She was raised there by her parents. She then went on to compete in many sports as a student at Newport Harbor High School. As a prep-athlete, she played indoor track and volleyball. In her final game she stood out. At the time of her college volleyball years, according to her college information, she played as an outside blocker, middle blocker settingter, and hitter. For her efforts she was named in 1999 as the Gatorade International Player of the year in Circle of Champions. In 2000, she was awarded her the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in volleyball. Although Ross and Klineman are in the spotlight since the year 2017, Klineman was already an established athlete on the beach prior to their team. The American has been a major winner in events with different teams. The other is a legend in the world of volleyball. Her partnership was with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and also as Klineman and Kessy's coach. Alongside Kessy Ross was an ace in the world circuit, winning one of the biggest titles in the world in 2009. They were awarded a silver medal from the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. The legendary Misty Maytreanor team along with Kerri Jennings were the winners of gold. Ross Jennings was Walsh Jennings partner in fate as Maytreanor resigned. In 2016, the pair were awarded bronze medals at the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross was a college player who played for the Trojans at USC before beginning her pro career. The Trojans were in high school as well as in the years before going to the beach for professional. Her time at USC was awe-inspiring. In 2000 she was named Pac-10 Freshman as well as NCAA Freshman of the Year. In addition, she was an All-American. Her Trojans were also able to make it to the Final Four. In her sophomore season, she went through a heartbreaking personal loss and still was successful in being named an All-American. In her two final years as a member of the Trojans the team, she played a key role in helping win consecutive championships. She was a fantastic volleyball player and won the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the top female college volleyball player. Ross was a major in foreign relations and international affairs at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, didn't get the opportunity to witness her daughter grow into famous in beach volleyball. In 2001 when Ross was in her sophomore year studying at USC her mother passed away from breast cancer. But, she will always hold her lost parent near and close. Margie remains an inspiration at the beach as well as throughout her entire life.
