April Ross
April Ross has won more than one gold medal in the Olympic Games. Ross is among only a handful of female beach volleyball athletes to be able to do so. Alix Kallineman will play alongside April Ross Tokyo for her third gold medal over the coming days. More than that though Ross hopes to win the first Olympic gold. It could be the last opportunity she gets at age 39. Still confident nevertheless. If we perform at our very best or even play well I feel like we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross declared on NBC Boston. In addition, I'm planning attempt to get chance. Ross was born August 22, 1982, located in Costa Mesa California. She was raised there by her parents. When she was at Newport Harbor High School, she competed in numerous athletics. She played during high school, and before going to the beach for professional. Her time at USC was quite impressive. In 2000 she was selected Pac-10 Freshman as well as NCAA Freshman of the Year, and was also she was an All-American. The Trojans made it to the Final Four. During her sophomore year she experienced a devastating personal tragedy, yet managed to win an All-American. In her last two seasons in the program she led the Trojans to the top of the mountain, winning three consecutive championships at the national level. Individually she established herself as a legend after winning the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This award was given to the best female collegiate player of the year in America. Ross suffered the loss of her mother to breast cancer in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. However, she continues to remember her deceased parent close and dear. Margie is a constant source of inspiration to her, in and out of the water.
