April Ross
April Ross has won more than one Olympic gold medal. She is among just a handful of female beach volleyball players who be able to do so. Alix Kallineman is set to compete alongside April Ross Tokyo in order to claim her third gold medal during the coming days. In addition, Ross is aiming to capture the first Olympic gold. Then I will also take some luck. Ross had her birth on August 22, 1982, on the outskirts of Costa Mesa California. She lived with her family in Costa Mesa. She was able to participate across a variety of sports as a student at Newport Harbor High School. Along with the indoor game, she played tennis and also jogged track when she was professional athletes. She was definitely a distinguished athlete in her other sport. In her time at high school, she was a middle blocker, outside setting and hitter on the volleyball court as per her school bio. The award was presented to her as in the category of Gatorade National Circle of Champions player of the Year in 1999 due to her accomplishments. The skills she showed in volleyball also earned her the Orange County Athlete of the Award in the year 2000. Ross Klineman joined her partnership in 2017, however Ross was an established player on the beach long before. She was a winner of many major events playing two different partners, one of which is a volleyball icon. She partnered up with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, as well as serving as the Klineman's assistant and Kessy's coach. Alongside Kessy Ross was a force on the international circuit winning a world title in 2009. The duo took silver in London's Olympic Games. The legendary Misty Maytreanor team and Kerri Jennings won the gold. Ross is Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's exit. They went on to get bronze in beach volleyball in the Rio Olympics in 2016. In high school and the several years prior to hitting the sand as a pro Ross played with the Trojans of USC as university. Ross's playing time with the Trojans was outstanding. The Trojans were an All-American and Pac-10 Freshman of the Year in the year 2000. Her Trojans were also able to make it to the Final Four. Her sophomore year was the time she experienced a devastating personal tragedy, yet managed to be a second All-American. After two more seasons as a member of the Trojans, she helped them win consecutive championships. She had established herself as a legendary player by winning an award in the year 2003-04. Honda Sports Award as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross majored in International Relations at USC. Sadly, Ross mother Margie never got to see her daughter rise to the highest levels in beach volleyball's acclaim. Ross suffered the loss of the breast cancer that she battled in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She is deeply in love with her mother who died. Margie continues to be an inspiration for her family on the beach and all throughout her life.
