Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She's the co-founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global, as well as the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and owner of the independently free online news publication The Huffington Post. When she moved from Greece to England from Greece at 16, she received a MA in Economics at Cambridge University. First foreign-born graduate to be elected president of the highly regarded debate group The Cambridge Union, at age 21 she took over the position. She was an author for a conservative newspaper after graduation and, with The Huffington Post launched a few years later, she developed an online platform to voice opinions which offered critiques of political scenarios. In part, her fame helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna's popularity was first noticed in 2003 when she declared herself an independent candidate in the California recall vote in order to replace then-Governor Davis. She also headed an Detroit energy-efficient vehicle project. Forbes named her the most powerful female in the media industry in the year 2009. The newspaper was ranked as 12th on the list. The Guardian also included her to the top 100 list of media in 2009. AOL bought The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. She was then made the president of the media division at AOL. It included a number of AOL owned properties like Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Their parents are Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, who was a consultant in management as well as a journalist. While she was very close with her father, it was her bond with her mother which shaped her character. Through her early years, she exhibited the qualities of a leader for which she is still well-known. Her move to England came at 16, to pursue her education and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. In the time of her studies she was a member of Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she was elected the first female president and only president from outside the country. In 1972, she earned an advanced degree in Economics. Following the graduation ceremony, she was a critic columnist and television host. She was on the show with Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she began to write her own books with his assistance.
