Sheryl Underwood is an American television host, comedian and performer famous for hosting the popular daytime talk show The Talk. Born in Arkansas she was raised in Little Rock and Atwater. Sheryl is a member of a troubled family. She spent the majority of her life taking care of Frankie. Frankie suffered from the disease polio. She had a lot of problems with her mother as she was growing as a teenager. Sheryl said that in one instance, her mother attacked the father of her child due to the fact that she was getting close to her. After her graduation from college, Sheryl became a military officer. Her passion was comedy. She was the first female finalist in the contest Miller Lite Comedy Search held in 1989. Her TV professional career in 1992 when she was a regular participant in the HBO comedy program Def Comedy Jam. She appeared in the show Oh Drama! as the host in 2000. Since 2011 she has been appearing as a co-host on the talk show The Talk. Additionally, she's appeared in a variety of fictional characters on series like Bulworth Nikki and Beauty Shop.
